FAST TRACK SELECTION (FTS) BY IAF

Sir

1. Please refer our mails and the telephonic discussions with regard to the forthcoming Fast Track Selection (FTS) at your institution. The relevant details with regard to the FTS are as under:-

(a) Centre: Chandigarh Engineering Colleges, Chandigarh

(b) Date: 31 Oct – 01 Nov 2009

(c) Branches: Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical), Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) and Meteorology.

(d) Commencement of Course: Jan 2010

(e) Educational Qualifications:

(i) Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) – BE / B Tech with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Production / Industrial Production or a combination of these streams.

(ii) Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) – BE / B Tech with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together in Electronics / Telecommunication / Electrical / Communication / Electronics and Communication / Instrumentation / Information Technology / Computer Science or a combination of these streams.

(iii) Meteorology – Minimum 50% marks in aggregate in all papers put together in MCA / Post Graduation in Science or Geography provided Mathematics and Physics were taken at graduation level (Criteria of having Mathematics and Physics at graduation level is application to both MCAs and Post Graduates).

(f) Age Criteria:-

(i) Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) & Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) – 18 to 28 years as on 01 Jan 2010 i.e. born between 02 Jan 1982 and 01 Jan 1992.

(i) Meteorology – 20 to 25 years as on 01 Jan 2010 i.e. born between 02 Jan 1985 and 01 Jan 1990.

(f) Gender: Male and Female

(g) Registration: Registration of the candidates will take place between 0800 H to 1100 H on 31 Oct 09. No registration will take place after the specified time and candidates who fail to register their names on the day of registration will not be permitted to appear for selection procedure.

2. The newspaper advertisement for the FTS would be released in The Tribune, Chandigarh edition on 25 Oct 09. Additionally small size curtain raiser advertisements will be released in all the nearby places to ensure adequate dissemination of the event. Copy of the FTS proforma and main advertisement is enclosed which covers the relevant details about eligibility criteria such as educational qualifications, age, marital status, medical standards, selection procedure and the format of FTS proforma. You are requested to disseminate the information of conduct of FTS to all the passed out students of your institution. The information may also be sent to all the other institutions of the region. This initiative would ensure adequate response in terms of participation by students.

3. The selection team from one of the Air Force Selection Boards has been given your contact details and they shall communicate you their arrival plan.

This is in reference to the placement drive of Wipro at CGC Gharuan on
24th October 2009.

It is hereby intimated that the students who have registered their
names for the placement drive of Wipro, may avail the college bus
service for CGC-Gharuan campus. The buses will be available at
CGC-Landran main gate at 8:30 a.m. Sharp on 24th October 2009. The
students who will report earlier at the venue, will get preference for
the process. All the participating students are required to carry
with them the following documents:

1) Resume
2) College Id Cards
3) 3 Passport Size Photographs

The students without these mandatory documents, will not be allowed to
participate in the process.

Notice regarding exploding of crackers

NOTICE

The exploding of crackers/bombs in the CGC Campus is strictly prohibited. Anyone found carrying crackers with him/her or found exploding them will be severely dealt with. The punishment may amount to expulsion from the hostel/college.

For celebrating Dewali, students will be allowed to play crackers etc. in the open grounds only and not in any of the buildings, only on 17.10.09 and not before or after 17.10.09.

The second Sessional Tests will be held during the period from 26.10.2009 to 30.10.2009. About 75% of the syllabus must be completed before these tests. All the students are advised to work seriously & sincerely for these tests so that they secure good marks in internals as well as externals of PTU exams.
